GLX4000 Physical Layer Switch

Overview

Curtiss-Wright, which created the Physical Layer Switch more than 10 years ago, now offers the GLX4000 series of robust switches. This fourth generation of non-blocking, multi-protocol physical layer switches facilitates connection of any input to any output. In the smallest chassis on the market, the GLX4000 can switch any digital signal up to 10 Gb/s. GLX4000 switches can easily be expanded--up to 288-port count--for many applications. They can accept up to six modular port cards each with 48 ports (12 ports per 10 Gbps Ethernet card).

Port cards are available with RJ45 or Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP or XFP) transceivers. They support up 2.5Gbps, 4.25Gbps, 10/100/1 and 10 Gb/s Ethernet or Firewire (1394) up to 1600Mb/s. These port cards and transceivers are capable of being hot swapped to facilitate speedy service and robust use.
